SODA clean

So if you have a stain on your carpet, like we get from time to time (with 3 kids and light carpet stains are bound to happen)  I heard  a remedy years ago, but never bought into it, until my carpet needs some help and I was grasping at straws.
Fresh Carpet Stain

Simple carpet stains such as spilled food and/or drinks can easily be removed with club soda. The carbonation works as a stain lifter and helps to clean the area without much manual effort. Plus, club soda is environmentally friendly

  • A bottle of club soda
  • A dry cloth or two
  • A sponge
  • A small scrub brush
If the carpet stain is fresh (wet), absorb extra moisture by blotting the stain with a clean, dry cloth. In many cases, this will absorb part of the stain as well, thereby making the job even easier.Apply a small amount of club soda to the stain and allow it to carbonate (fizz) into the stain. Do not saturate the stain but merely cover it.For new stains, allow about 15 minutes for the club soda to work. For set-in stains, 15 to 30 minutes may be necessary. After the club soda has set in, gently rub the stain with a damp sponge or a scrub brush, using circular motions. The tougher the stain, the more you need to scrub the area, but be careful not to ruin the carpet by over-scrubbing.
After the stain is removed, absorb excess liquid with a dry, clean cloth.
