Bleach that mold

Do you ever get a little mold around the edge of your sinks or bathtub?  Well occasionally we do at our house.  I found a little tip that really works.  If you saturate a cotton ball in bleach and then place it on the molded area over night, when you remove it you rub and it comes off.  This helps not spread the mold into the cracks too.

Fathers Day

Father's day is only 13 days away, what you doing for the men in your life??? We decided to do a candy bouqet.  Then nice thing is you can spruce it up or keep it simple depending on what you want to give dad this year.

How to make?  Refer to a previous post:  http://tracees3ts.blogspot.com/2013/05/birthday-treat.html
Now you can add gift cards or jerky whatever dad likes.

Birthday Bouqet

One of the neatest women I have ever met celebrated a birthday yesterday.  I was wanting to do something special for her, but what?  I made her a candy bouquet.

It took no time at all and was easy.
--4 boxes of theater candy (I chose whoppers)
--6 wooden skewers
--5 candy bars
--2 sheets of tissue paper
--floral foam
--packing tape
--ribbon
First you take the boxed candy and make it into a square, with packing tape tape them together.
Insert the floral foam in the center, and make sure the bottom is taped and secured.
Tape candy bars on to skewers and poke in foam.  With tissue paper bunch it together and place a skewer in the center.

Pop in Soon.

I made these little bubble wands and attached bubble gum in mesh with a saying "We miss you in primary please pop in sometime soon."  I had each of the primary teachers write notes to the children who did not attend the entire month of April.  With our presidents permission I am going to keep track of who does not come to primary for the whole month, giving the teachers hand outs and letting them write a message on fast Sunday.

WHOO ♥'s their teacher???

Our teacher appreciation seems a little late this year (maybe cause I thought it was last week and went down to decorate my 1st grade sons teachers door;  OH WELL BETTER EARLY THAN LATE RIGHT?)  I gave my son a whole bunch of ideas and he chose an owl theme.  WHOO knew owls could be so cute?

First I made owl masks for the kids to cover their face with their little eyes looking out. (I did multiple colors so they could choose.  Also I made round eyes for the boys and flower for the girls, just to add some variety.)
On a black peice of cardstock with a white crayon, I had each child write his/her own name.
One by one I took a photo of every child in the class masked and holding their name.

At the top of the door I put WHOO WHOO  ♥ Mrs S Webb?
(and for good measure I did it on school themed scrapbook paper)
Here is the finished project.

LUCKY to have you as a teacher

I found a blog with a cute little shamrock treat for St. Patricks day.  I am of the mind set you don't have to do anything big, but it's nice to acknowledge different holidays.  So for the kids teachers we made these cute little things.

TWeeN VaLeNTiNe BoX

Man when your kids hit that age where princess and mickey mouse aren't cool, but your not ready for them to jump into fast cars or lipstick.  We have ARRIVED!  So I am trying to be clever about what kind of a Valentine box to make my daughter??????????????????????????????????????
And this is what I came up with.
A magazine:  With her and 2 friends on the cover.
I went to  http://photo2.walgreens.com/ ordered this photo.  They have a coupon currently for 30% off with code 30TODAY and made a narrow box into a magazine.

Then I waited all afternoon to see  what kind of a response I would get?  Ya know the
"mom your such a fool!?#$"
or
"Mom that's really cool!~"
What do you think she said?  See for yourself:

BRaG BOaRD

At our house we use lots a whole forest of paper and every new drawing becomes PRICELESS! I have a hard time throwing them away I always get caught and I  am sentimental about others and put them in a special album.  But what about the fleeing artwork?  Ya know this weeks before they go in the "recycle" bin?  Well this is what we did.

Bead board (any size you want it)
I had left over from a previous project.
So it felt free??
We went to our local Habitat for Humanity
store and picked up molding for wood floor.  3 pieces .75 cents
(woowoo my favorite part was watching my HOT hubby work on this).

Wal Mart sales clothes pins for $1.00 and it's a pack of 50, so a
handful for this project and store the rest away for the next.
Scrapbook paper that I already had FREE I cut into strips an
glued on the clothes pins for a little fashion flare.

After cutting out my words with my Cricut we have a family brag board!!!

Items needed:
Bead Board, molding,nails
Clothes pins, paper, glue

optional:
words at the top.

First set of CLUBS

Diaper cakes are so cute,  so fun, and so expensive.  I have a new little nephew arriving around February 28th.  Because the family has a long line of golfers I decided to make him his 1st golf bag.  Is all it takes is:  one round box (I got it at Michaels I think it's a wine box.)  2 blankets, wash cloths, slippers, fake keys,  So I stick outfits down in the box and with a few folding techniques I made it.

REACH OUT TO THE 1

Can I please just tell you a little something that has been AmAzIng for me.  I was recently called to the primary presidency in my ward.  A calling I have never had.  I have been in activity days, primary teacher, & sec.  but never in the presidency.   Well don't worry my 2nd week I was doing sharing time.  And can I say this is right up my alley.  My cute little girl said "Mom I think you were made for this calling!"  Well at least I have 1 fan.  So I jumped in to see if I would sink or swim.  I loved doing this, I just completed my 4th Sunday and I am alive to tell about it, and even elated with what happened.  Soo . . . I had the strongest prompting to reach out to the children who did not attend once during the 3 weeks prior to my 4th sharing time.  I first got permission from my very awesome president (who I love already and am excited about the things I have and will learn from her.)  I took the little handouts for each week and on wrote a letter explaining what we learned each week.  As follows:

Week 1:  We learned about the importance of choosing and being a good friend.  My hand out was a black boot cut with my cricut with nickels and a quote.  (I also included the story Pres Hinckley told of two boys and the value of having good friends)  http://www.sugardoodle.net/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8115&Itemid=200138

Week 2:  We learned about the good and bad of media.  We had a don't pet the rattle snakes lesson by Elder Sorenson.  I made a snake with a small chico stick attached as the rattle. http://perglersprimaryplace.blogspot.com/2012/07/reading-listening-and-looking-at-things.html

Week 3:  We learned about keeping the sabbath day holy.  And invited a member of the  bishopric to come in and we made him a Sunday, discussing the good things we can do on Sunday and putting yummy toppings on.  Then including things not appropriate for Sunday and asked would this ruin your Sundae?
http://www.sugardoodle.info/Sabbath%20Day/Would%20this%20ruin%20your%20Sundae.shtml
I gave them little ice creams cut out with my cricut with a dum dum attached to the back.  I also attached suggestions of things to do on Sunday.

SO I typed this up with a little letter saying We miss you at primary and hope to see you soon.  Next week we will be playing a game, it will be from the stories above.

I placed the goodies in a brown bag and delivered to those who we have not seen in the last 3 Sundays.  I was completely overjoyed when 7 of the 15 children showed up to church.  I cannot tell you how happy that makes me, to know just a little love and encouragement and we can be blessed with these children in our primary.  I would strongly encourage you to become whatever it may be but reach out to those who others may give up on.  It is amazing!

AUGUST VT

I think the Visiting Teaching Messages recently have been so special.  They are not a lesson you actually go and give, but I time for you as a VT to ponder am I doing what I should and do my sisters know I am here and want to be a positive and helpful part of their lives.

I have chosen to focus on one thing in the instruction and this month one of the questions at the bottom states:
"Do the sisters I watch over know that I am willing to help them when they have a need?"

So instantly I thought of emergency and first aid.  So here is a VT suggestion for August.

Painting Bar Stools

Our house is in real neutral colors.  The kitchen paint is Sherwin Williams Dapper Tan that to me looks like a color you might find in camoflauge.  Anyway we have these awesome barstools.  They have been around forever with a brown padded seat.  Lately I've been in the mood to have a project.  So what color do you think would be best to accent the kitchen.
We have silver knobs and handles, white floor boards.

This is the valance.
