Applesauce Cookies

I DO NOT like applesauce, but these cookies are so moist and delicious.  They remind me of fall coming home from school.  My mom loved to make these, but be careful stacking them they have a tendency to stick together.  I tell you they are MOOOOOOOOOOOOOIST~

1  Cup Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
3 1/2 Cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp. Pumpkin Spice
1 C. Nuts (opt)
1 C. Shortening
2 C. applesauce
1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 pkg. Chocolate Chips

Mix all ingredients
Bake on 350 for 14 minutes.
